‘The shelter pets absolutely love their chairs!’ the organization, a no-kill shelter, wrote on Facebook. “If anyone has any older chairs they no longer want, please think of the shelter pets!”

“If you’re heading down to Comic-Con International early, there’s one event you shouldn’t miss: PAWmicon.
The fifth annual event put on by the Helen Woodward Animal Center will take place earlier than usual this year from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. July 15 instead of coinciding with the mega convention.
The family-friendly event will include a pet costume contest, carnival games for pets and their humans alike, arts and crafts, snacks — including dog-friendly goodies — and more.”

Dog ownership lowers early death risk, study finds
Dog owners have a lower risk of death from cardiovascular disease or other causes, a study of 3.4 million Swedes has found.
The team analysed national registries for people aged 40 to 80, and compared them to dog ownership registers.
They found there was a lower risk of cardiovascular disease in owners of dogs, particularly of hunting breeds.
